We will be holding the club AGM followed by a DVD evening in the Osman room of the Hursley clubhouse on Friday 3rd February for club members starting at 7:30pm.

We have been thinking of running DVD social evenings so the AGM event is the first rollout of this idea.  There is no charge, and we will be showing a professionally made DVD of  the Vintage Fly-in in 2010 at the Air Strip at West Tisted where the organisers managed to get 92 pre-1930 aircraft fly in (and a few spam cans that were banished to the other end of the field ).  There is a lot of history involved with the owners being interviewed about their splendid aircraft. The vintage planes were flying until it got dark – a fantastic day probably never to be repeated (or recorded). 

We expect the AGM to be reasonably short with the provisional timetable: 

pre 7:30pm - Some members plan to eat at the club beforehand so feel free to join us!

7:30pm - 8:15pm  AGM

8:15pm - 8:30pm  Drinks break and DVD setup

8:30pm - 9:30pm  DVD presentation

Please make every effort to attend the AGM, these are challenging times for the club and your support is needed to keep it going, to paraphrase someone rather famous...'ask not what the IBMFC can do for you but what you can do for the IBMFC!'

I have arranged to have another fly-in at Tisted (Near West Meon, Hampshire) on Saturday 9th June 2012.  All IBM'ers, Retirees and interested parties are invited but I need to know any aircraft / people details to send specific “Arrival” instructions.  You may recall that I tried this last year but the weather was too windy and we only got 17 planes there out of the expected 70!  This year the event will be open to many aircraft by invitation and I now expect to get anywhere from 70 to 100 planes so it could be busy!
