Beaufort Life raft (with self-inflating cover)

The club has two different life rafts. If you borrow the heavier raft in the YELLOW bag, you have the raft which is described here. It has a self-inflating cover that is fully attached to the raft and is generally considered to be the better of our two life rafts.

This page has been created to show you what the life raft looks like before and after inflation - hopefully you will never have a need to see it inflated. The information provided here is not intended to be a tutorial on how to use the life raft and should not be treated as such. If you plan to borrow any of the Flying Club's safety equipment it is your responsibility to ensure that you know how to use it in the case of an emergency. There are several UK organizations that offer training in various aspects of ditching at sea and subsequent survival until help arrives.
